MP says well done to all local candidates
John Baron MP has today welcomed news that local Conservatives have gained an additional seat and maintained control of Basildon Council – which bucks the national trend. John has also congratulated all candidates for putting themselves forward to serve the public.
John said:
“It is great news that we have maintained control of the Council and gained an extra seat. It is particularly noteworthy that our vote held up well. This bodes well for the future and is the result of a lot of hard work on behalf of residents.”
“I also congratulate all election candidates whether successful or not. Our democracy depends on people putting themselves forward to serve the public, and those who take the initiative deserve our thanks and appreciation.”
“I look forward to continuing to work with my Council colleagues in serving the residents of Basildon and Billericay.”
