MP says have your say
John Baron MP would like to encourage residents to take part in Essex County Council’s consultation on the Replacement Minerals Local Plan review. The proposed plan provides planning policies for mineral development in Essex until 2040 and identifies further sites for mineral extraction from 2025. New sites will be needed to meet the forecast demand for aggregates (sand and gravel).
There are two parts to the consultation: firstly, the revised plan policies, and, secondly, the 52 candidate sites. The consultation runs from 6th February 2024 to 19th March 2024.
John said:
“I encourage residents to respond to this consultation as it may have a meaningful impact on their local community. We all understand we need these minerals, but the consultation will help determine which ‘preferred sites’ will be included in the Council’s final plan.”
