MP writes to King to express support
Responding to Buckingham Palace’s announcement of the King’s cancer diagnosis, John said,
“We all send His Majesty our best wishes for a full and speedy recovery, and also send our support to the wider Royal Family at this difficult time. I have written to His Majesty expressing the support of all of us in Basildon and Billericay.”
“The Prime Minister has indicated the good news that the King’s cancer has been detected in its early stages, which maximises the chances of successful treatment. In making his diagnosis public, no doubt the King intends to encourage others to seek medical advice if they are experiencing cancer symptoms – a message I strongly endorse, given my involvement with the cancer cause here in Parliament.”
