MP understands 1000 jobs to go in constituency over next three years
John Baron MP has today learned that Ford is taking steps to restructure its European business and that these changes will result in 2,800 job losses across Europe. Ford will be reducing the number of product development jobs at the Dunton site in John’s constituency by 1,000 over the next three years and will be looking to make these cuts via voluntary separation programmes.
John said:
“It is disappointing to hear that Ford Dunton will be reducing its workforce at Dunton over the next three years. Whilst I understand that Ford are looking to make these cuts via voluntary separation programmes, I know it will be a worrying time for my constituents who are employed at the Dunton site.”
“I have been assured by Ford that the UK Leadership Team will be available in person throughout the day and thereafter to speak with employees and I would encourage those who are affected to reach out to them to discuss their options.”
