MP welcomes Chancellor’s package
During today’s Autumn Statement, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, announced that benefits and pensions will rise with inflation, and that the National Living Wage will be raised by nearly 10%. John Baron MP has been calling on the Government to commit to these policies for several months.
John said,
“I commend the Chancellor on this Autumn Statement and for accepting representations regarding the need to accept the recommendation of the Low Pay Commission to raise the National Living Wage significantly, to maintain the link between benefits and inflation and to maintain the pension Triple Lock. These measures will help the most vulnerable and show compassion lies at the heart of Government.”
