MP: NI rise was wrong tax at the wrong time
Yesterday the National Insurance Levy (Repeal) Bill passed through the House of Commons. This legislation will cut National Insurance contributions for millions of workers and abolish the levy which Parliament voted for last year – John Baron MP voted against it.
John said,
“The Government has is right to cut National Insurance and abolish the levy. Conservatives should know that NI is a ‘tax on jobs’ and, at a time when the economic recovery from the pandemic is fragile, it has been the wrong tax at the wrong time. Having voted against its introduction in 2021, I was pleased to be able to support its abolition a year later.”
