MP: Rishi will stand us in good stead in the times ahead
Responding to the news that Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP is the new Conservative leader and Prime Minister, John said,
“I congratulate Rishi Sunak on becoming the new Conservative leader and Prime Minister. Having signed his nomination papers, I am pleased that his campaign was successful. I would also like to congratulate Penny Mordaunt on her campaign.”
“Rishi has a positive agenda, has good experience in government and is very sound on the nation’s finances. During the pandemic he took compassionate decisions to get the country through tough times, which will stand us all in good stead in the times ahead.”
