MP looks forward to book delivery in constituency
As part of the celebrations for Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, the Government is making available to all primary school children in state-funded education a commemorative book. This takes the form of a story in which a young girl learns from and is inspired by items collected in a treasure box owned by her great-grandmother, and covers the events of the Queen’s reign and the Jubilee across the Home Nations of the UK and the Commonwealth.
John said,
“I welcome this excellent initiative as part of the commemorations of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. In marking the Queen’s historic achievement, it is right that school pupils across the country are given this opportunity to learn more about her reign in a fun and accessible way. I look forward to the book being delivered to schools across Basildon & Billericay.”
Notes to Editors:
• Books will be distributed to schools in England and Northern Ireland by the end of this academic year, with schools in Scotland and Wales choosing whether to receive the book.

• An audio version of the book will be available in English, Welsh, Scots Gaelic, Irish and Ulster Scots.
