MP: HS2 should be cancelled
Today in the House of Commons the Speaker granted an Urgent Question to Louise Haigh MP on the planned route and delivery of the High Speed 2 (HS2) railway line. John Baron MP has always opposed HS2, believing its ballooning costs could be better spent elsewhere.
John said,
“Having voted against HS2 from the very start, I continue to believe it will become the biggest white elephant in British infrastructure history. However, it is still not too late to cancel it and save many tens of billions of pounds. Let us hope sense will prevail.”
