MP: TV Drama highlights grave public scandal
Following the ITV Drama, Mr Bates vs the Post Office, John Baron MP said,
“The recent ITV drama has reminded us all of the scale and extent of the public scandal of the Post Office employees who were unjustly persecuted and, in many cases, prosecuted.”
“I fully support moves to urgently investigate options to accelerate the process of clearing the names of those unjustly convicted and of securing compensation where appropriate. I likewise support reviews into whether those who held senior Post Office positions should retain their honours, and welcome Paula Vennells’ decision to hand back her CBE.”
“Meanwhile, I strongly encourage any constituents who have been affected by this scandal to make contact with me.”
